Turtle Creek & Oak Lawn Apartments

Living in Oak Lawn

If your ideal spot in Dallas is characterized as eclectic, diverse and charming, put Oak Lawn on your short list. This enchanting neighborhood is a study in contrasts. It’s the site of many of the city’s most popular bars and clubs. It’s also historically significant, delightfully walkable and punctuated by expansive green spaces, parks and nature trails.

Apartments, Townhomes and Condos

You may be drawn to Oak Lawn by its energy and central Dallas location, but what will likely seal the deal is the fact that Oak Lawn apartments, townhomes and condos are plentiful and tend to be more affordable than Uptown Dallas apartments, townhomes and condos. Many of the most-sought-after properties line Turtle Creek Blvd., just a short stroll from the extensive nightlife and dining on Cedar Springs Rd. and Oak Lawn Ave. You’ll find Mediterranean-inspired mid rises, modern high rises, well-appointed condominiums, and urban lofts with stunning views, and they’re all just steps away from the walking and biking trails along picturesque Turtle Creek.

Shopping, Dining and Nightlife

Shopping options in Oak Lawn are as diverse as the neighborhood’s residents. You’ll find unique thrift and vintage clothing stores like Gratitude and Out of the Closet, eclectic home décor stores like Nuvo, and the ever-convenient Elliott’s Hardware. The lack of big box stores is part of Oak Lawn’s appeal.

Oak Lawn is locally known for its dining and nightlife. For Dallasites pondering, “What should we do tonight?” the answer is often, “Let’s head to Oak Lawn!” When you live here, you’ve got a huge selection of options within walking distance. The heart of Oak Lawn’s dining and nightlife scene is the area surrounding Cedar Springs Rd. between Oak Lawn and Wycliff avenues. Diverse dining options include the elegant Winslow’s and The Mansion Restaurant on Turtle Creek, on-trend burger joint Maple and Motor, DISH (check out the Drag Brunch) and EatZi’s Market & Bakery, which is renowned for its artisan breads. For nightlife, hit Station 4 for dancing and drag shows, drink at awesome dive bars like Windmill Lounge and Grapevine Bar. Whatever cuisine or vibe you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it in Oak Lawn!

Special Events

Oak Lawn is vibrant on any day, but the neighborhood truly comes alive when it hosts some of Dallas’ most anticipated annual events. Two of the largest are Oak Lawn’s annual Halloween Street Party, which draws throngs of costumed revelers, and Dallas’ Gay Pride celebration held on the third Sunday in September, which is one of the largest gay pride events in the country.
